About Diaspora Discovery

Diaspora Discovery was born of the realization that the Jewish People are increasingly finding themselves concentrated in Israel and North America without enjoying the full benefits from the vast and diverse Jewish Diaspora. Via  their “discovered” programs they bring the community closer, wherever they are.

The Challenge

Working from zero on this project, required a deep understanding of the target audience and careful consideration on what would be a suitable visual identity and brand positioning, that can help the organisation communicate its message and engage the Jewish community. Furthermore, it was important to consider how the experience and user journey within the website, would appeal to a wide range of age groups and how to design it in order to stimulate them in taking an action and participating in the programs.

User Experience

We used a combination of user testing and market research to create a site that would be appealing to both younger and older users. We designed the user journeys of each of the age groups to ensure that the omni-channel experience is smooth and logical. Our focus was to present the information in a manner that intuitively leads the users to take an action.

User Interface

The UI of the website was as important as the experience, and we strived to compliment and support the structure via custom made visuals that illustrate what it’s like to participate in the program. We chose a design that would both be accessible, but also provokes an emotional attachment, high engagement and most importantly appeals to the wide range of age groups.

Branding

Designing the visual identity of Diaspora Discovery required thorough research on cultural norms, non-profit brand strategies and  relevant positioning that would appeal to different ages. After the research, the logo and style guide were created. The company also required some print materials, as well as business cards which were also designed consistently with their digital identity.

The Result

Having the opportunity to design the identity and digital communication of Diaspora Discovery, provided  us with a chance to build fully consistent and smooth customer experience that would help the organisation make bigger impact, via strong and consistent omni-channel presence, memorable online and offline materials, and intuitive website that ensures higher signups for their program.
